1st 10 Days
The first 10 days of the recess have gone quite quickly it’s been busy but not hectic. We read of some pundits telling people to look out for their MP’s on holiday and take photos of them on some exotic beach, gulping at a margarita or pina calado cocktails.
The closest I will get to an exotic beach was last Sunday at Portobello. I took my grandson Cody and his granny for a day in the East of Scotland sunshine. It was a trail I had blazed when I was his age with my granny. To deprive any amateur paparazzi I played safe and didn’t go for a paddle with the knotted hankie on my head and trousers rolled up. But I did have a bash at the slot machines and a ice-cream cone. Even the good people of East Lothian will concede that there is very little about Portobello that can be described as exotic but we had a lovely day out which ended with a seaside fish tea and a drive home in the rain.
Recess Activities
Over the next few weeks I will be organising events and meetings around the constituency; holding Roving Surgeries; hosting meetings with voluntary groups; visiting local charities etc and talking to Government about the issues raised with me. I intend to use the summer recess to meet with and listen to as many groups and/or individuals as possible. Look out for press notices locally and on my Blog or call my office 01555-673177 for information; email hoodj@parliament.uk or have a go on my E-surgery via my web page at www.jimhoodmp.org.uk
