Jim Hood says, “Go online and tell me what you think”
Jim Hood today launched a campaign to get more of his constituents to go online and/or join him in regular “phone-in’s” to answer their questions on matters they think important to them.
The MP said,
“If people want to get information on what is happening on national issues, they can go online to my webpage at jimhoodmp.org.uk. That is also a quick way of communicating with me. e.g. - to read my update today on MP’s expenses and Sir Thomas Legg’s Review.
People who do not have the internet, can access my 24 hour MP’s hotline on 01555 662926, and from January 2010, I will be holding regular phone-in surgeries for constituents to tell me what is concerning them from the comfort of their own home.
Local and national media have their role in communicating to their readers, but they often serve their own narrow agenda and can sometimes ignore the real issues that concern people.
I found out that, when meeting voluntary organisations, the issues that concern them most are often left out of the news reports in their local communities. From now on, people who want to talk to their MP on any issue of their choosing, have the tools available to them to do just that”.
