MP completes round of Open Meetings in Hamilton and Uddingston
This week Jim Hood MP concluded his series of 10 Open Meetings held over the last month with voluntary organisations and local charities throughout his Lanark & Hamilton East constituency. The final three meetings (preceded by Larkhall (2); Carluke (2) and Lanark (3) ) were held in Whitehill, Hamilton (2) and Uddingston, and completed what proved to be a very successful forum enabling voluntary groups to get together and discuss issues common to each other with their MP.
Following the 10th and final meeting in Uddingston on Friday, Member of Parliament Jim Hood said:
“I wish to thank all who contributed directly and indirectly to the success of these important meetings, particularly the MSP’s Tom McCabe and Michael McMahon, who, along with Local Councillor Maureen Devlin, contributed to the success of the final round of meetings. To all the voluntary and charitable groups who make a difference to all our lives, a big thank you to all.
Now that the voluntary organisations and charitable groups have met in this open forum where they have shared with each other the collective experience of making their voice heard, I intend to consult with them to make Open Days for voluntary organisations in Lanark and Hamilton East, a regular event.”
