RBS Bankers

Jim Hood MP urged the UK Government to be as accommodating to any future US application to extradite RBS Bankers to America as they were to extraditing the NatWest Three in 2007.

Speaking in the House of Commons today, the Lanark & Hamilton East MP invited Rt Hon Jim Murphy MP the Secretary of State for Scotland to encourage Scottish Local Councils who have similar concerns as the two English Local authorities suing RBS in the American courts to join their action or initiate their own.

Speaking after Scottish Question time today Mr Hood added,

” The NatWest Three were extradited on charges that they defrauded NatWest owners, i.e. Royal Bank of Scotland of £10M. If the American courts decide that RBS bankers were legally culpable for the UK pension fund losses in America and want to extradite RBS bankers, it would be incredulous if the UK government was any less accommodating to such a request than they were with the NatWest Three”.
