Del Boy Budget / Ladies Football

Del Boy Budget

Growth down, unemployment up, inflation at 5% and rising, and there was George Osborne beating his chest announcing to the world that Britain was open for business. It could have been Del Boy himself delivering this Tory led Coalition’s Budget. With all the aplomb of a City slicking spiv, he announced a 1p per litre cut in fuel duty when he had increased it by 3p with his 20% VAT. It was equivalent to a 0.7% cut of the £1.40p price at the pumps, when Osborne’s 20% VAT had increased it by four times that in January. The Coalition is so united that the day after the Budget Nick Clegg told Cameron (on camera) there is nothing for them to disagree about now. The Only Fools and Horses duo, Del and Rodney would be proud of Dave and Nick.

Ladies Football

Last Sunday Hamilton Accies Ladies played Celtic Ladies in a Premier league match at  Carluke’s John Cumming Stadium. It was a great match resulting in a 1-1 draw and the local MP was delighted to be there. The occasion was the first home game of the Hamilton Accie Ladies new season. All their home matches will be played at the  Carluke stadium. The WC is going into limbo until after the Scottish Parliament election. The Accies Girls will play three home games before my next WC. If you have a spare couple of hours for family enjoyment get long to the John Cumming Stadium and support the Accies Ladies.
