New Jags Coalition / Blame Game / Delusional

New Jags Coalition

David Cameron’s obsession for deficit reduction moved along a confusing track last week. Downing Street took delivery of two new 5 litre XJ 351 Jaguars costing £200,000 each. The obvious question of why the PM needs two jags, and why now, was side stepped with evasive rhetoric from his press office, causing speculation that this is the inevitable cost of Coalition agreements, i.e., Nick Clegg has to get one of the £200,000 cars as well?

Blame Game

Having been ill at ease from this perceived indulgent spending spree, Cameron’s press office immediately sought refuge with their stock response to all criticism, i.e. Blame Gordon Brown. “Brown ordered it”, we were told, but who ordered the second car and what justification was there for spending £400,000 on the Prime Minister when in the same week they gave redundancy notices to 11,000 Armed Forces personnel and abolished the armed Forces £12 a day meal allowances.

Delusional

For the Lib/Dems to be runner-up to Labour at a general election in Barnsley, and within 10 months, come 6th at a by-election, behind UKIP, Tories, BNP, an independent with a cowboy hat, lose their deposit with only 4% vote and still describe the result, as Nick Clegg did, as “recoverable”, is delusional.
